Challenges Faced by the Client
The client used an Excel macro-based Portfolio Analytics dashboard to monitor, analyze, and optimize their investment portfolios. This tool provided a comprehensive view of portfolio performance, risk metrics, asset allocation, and other critical financial metrics. However, the Excel macro-based solution faced several challenges.
The major issue was the slow performance, which hindered timely report generation and data insights. The complex codebase made it difficult to introduce new features and address bugs, limiting the solution’s functionality. Additionally, the legacy user interface posed challenges in data access and analysis.
The client had a stable back-end system based on Python and JSON data, but their front-end was Excel Macro-based, which faced considerable challenges in the distribution, usage and consumption of the data.
To address these challenges, the client needed a new analytics solution that was fast, maintainable, and user-friendly.

To implement this solution, UBTI developed and implemented an attractive web-based application using React JS which has a modularized codebase for the client’s Analytics solution. The outcome is a significantly faster and more responsive solution compared to the previous Excel Macro-based approach. The codebase has been optimized for easier maintenance, facilitating the smooth addition of new features and efficient bug fixing.
