At UB Technology Innovations (UBTI), leadership is a responsibility we carry with pride — the responsibility to guide, evolve, and deliver outcomes that matter. Recently, our Leadership Meet brought together department heads and business units from across geographies to define our journey for 2025-2026.
This strategy session was more than setting goals. It shaped how we would work together, empower teams, and drive success across every project, every region, and every customer interaction.
From foundational values to detailed execution models, here are some key takeaways from the discussions.
Setting the Tone: “The Rowboat Rhythm”
Before getting into the agenda, our CEO, Lordson, shared a story that perfectly set the tone for everything that followed – the “Rowboat Rhythm.”
He spoke about a rowing team, where each person sits in a narrow boat (called a Shell) and faces backward. That means, they can’t see where they are going. Only one person, the Coxswain, faces forward and knows the direction. The rest of the team holds an oar, and everyone must row together at the same pace. It is not about strength alone. If even one person rows faster or slower, the boat loses balance. But the boat moves quickly and smoothly when everyone rows in sync, trusting the coxswain’s guidance. The Wake left behind (the trail in the water) shows how well the team works together.
This analogy translates into how leadership steers the strategic vision while teams use the tools and technologies to move forward with strength and alignment.
It was a powerful start that no matter how skilled individuals are, success only happens when we move in sync, trusting the course and rowing together.
Leadership Meetup 2025-2026
The Execution Model: From Strategy to Individual Contribution
Following the Rowboat story, the Meet introduced a straightforward execution hierarchy:
- Management Goals First: Leadership sets clear, company-level objectives.
- Team Goals Next: Department Heads and Project Leads translate these into team priorities.
- Individual Contributions: All Team Members’ work aligns with these larger goals.
This model ensures that every action, project, role, and initiative — across functions like sales, marketing, HR, or project delivery — connects meaningfully to UBTI’s overall journey.
Everyone has a role to play, and everyone’s contribution matters!
Delivery Excellence: Aligning Teams Across Technologies
After laying the groundwork with strategic goal setting and team alignment, the spotlight moved to Delivery and Operational Excellence.
Project Delivery Heads from Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, and other technologies presented a review of last year’s projects, lessons learned, and priorities for 2025-2026. The focus was on increasing operational agility, strengthening governance, and enhancing proactive internal and customer communication.
Sales and Marketing Leaders from the USA, MEA, and APAC presented their regional perspectives, emphasizing deeper client engagement, brand management, and customer account intelligence.
This session reflected our global presence, but more importantly, it reminded us how we must all work cohesively across geographies and departments to deliver quality results!
Two guiding pillars framed all these initiatives going forward:
- Empowerment: This is all about enabling individuals to take ownership of their work, make decisions, and lead initiatives within their areas of expertise. This included initiatives like leadership development tracks and expanding role-based responsibilities to encourage proactive ownership at all levels.
- Transformation: This denotes rethinking how we work; by adopting smarter processes, embracing AI and innovation, and focusing on outcomes over routine activities. The goal here is to make agility, creativity, and customer-first thinking a part of everyday operations.
Both these pillars will define how UBTI evolves in the coming year.
Purpose, Passion, and Promise: Our Commitment to 2025-2026
As the Leadership Meet concluded, the energy in the room radiated with focus and excitement for the future. Everyone realized that our strength lies not in the tools or strategies but in the people who utilize them. In that context, we reaffirmed our core principles, namely:
- Purpose: Solve real problems for our customers.
- Passion: Continuous improvement, innovation, and creativity will fuel our journey.
- Promise: Deliver only the best — no compromise.
Together, we are ready to build the next chapter of UBTI’s success.
